Brightwell cum Sotwell
The village fete is held every year on the first Saturday of July. A quintessential English summer event depicted in many a television programme set in the English countryside such as Midsommer murders. Set in the grounds of a beautiful English Manor house, the brass band will be playing, tea and cakes are served on the lawn. Books, bric a brac for sale, all sorts of silly games played, tombola, raffle. But most important is the produce tent where competion is rife to find the best potatoes, beans, tomatoes, flowers etc. in the village. The Village Fete really is one of the highlights of the year and all our guests who have managed to go to it have been enchanted.
